Vynogradiv land has an interesting history. It was here, near the village of Korolevo, where the oldest traces of human activity in the territory of Ukraine and Central Europe dating back to 1 million years ago were found.
The land has long been famous for its vineyards. The medieval coat of arms of this region depicts: a bunch of grapes, a fish, an oak branch, and the legendary black crawfish that allegedly lived in the Bator River.
Many grape varieties are grown in the district. The winery reservoir built in 1972 is located in Vynogradiv.
The horseshoe-shaped mine is cut in the Chorna mountain and has a length of 350 m and an area of 2300 m². It is maintained at +11-14°C throughout the year. 700 thousand liters of wine is stored in giant oak barrels, which are true masterpieces of the relief woodcarving. Every year in May, the traditional district festival of winemakers is held in Vynogradiv, which is attended by winemakers not only from Transcarpathia, but also from neighboring countries.
