Due to the unpredictable situation in the East of Ukraine, Transcarpathian rescuers urge citizens to be vigilant and remember the main rules of behavior when detecting suspicious items.
How to distinguish explosives from other things? First, they are unusual for a particular situation or area where you are. Second, often the presence of explosive is indicated by sounds, such as ticking, and flashing of indicator light. You should also watch out for power sources on suspicious objects or next to them. In addition, the presence of explosives may be indicated by wires.
If you find a suspicious device, first of all refrain from any actions on your own. One of the main causes of accidents related to explosives is a gross violation of basic safety rules. Only trained specialists can defuse a bomb or localize an explosion after evacuation of people from the danger zone. So, when detecting a suspicious object, report it to the rescue service by calling 101 or the police by calling 102.
