Due to the intensification of cyclonic activity in the west and south-west of Europe, during December 9-11, 2017, bad weather is expected throughout Transcarpathian region, including the highways of the region. During the day, on December 9, heavy, sometimes very heavy rain with the transition to wet snow and snow is expected. During the night of the 10th and the day of 11th of December, there will be heavy wet snow and snow. During the entire period, from December 9 to December 11, in some places: slush build-up, fog, ice, in the mountainous areas – blizzards. On the roads in most of the region, there will be ice, on the passes – snow drifts.
The State Emergencies Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region asks citizens to refrain from long trips by personal vehicles during this period, especially through mountain passes of Transcarpathian region.
Also, car owners should keep their vehicles away from trees, as wet soil and wind gain may cause them to fall.
Tourists are not recommended to go to the mountains until the weather conditions improve.
