In 2014, 18 traffic accidents have occurred in Transcarpathian region, after which drivers fled without helping victims, as a result of which 4 people were killed and another 14 were injured. 15 of these accidents have been solved by police officers in hot pursuit, and the perpetrators have been brought to justice.
According to the head of the Traffic Police Office in Transcarpathia Mykhailo Boychuk: "Most accidents were solved with the help of conscientious citizens, for which we are very grateful to them. People no longer ignore the problems of others, and more and more actively help law enforcement agencies. However, unfortunately, there are still three unsolved traffic accidents, after which drivers fled. Traffic Police Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region is searching for:
- Mercedes-Benz E-Class W211, dark blue, which on March 1, about 19.00, on the motorway "Kyiv-Chop", near the village of N.Solotvyno hit a pedestrian, after which the latter was thrown under the wheels of another car that was moving behind. The said vehicle fled from the scene. The pedestrian, born in 1954, was hospitalized in the surgical department of Uzhgorod City Hospital.
- A white minibus involved in the traffic accident that occurred on the night of 24 to 25 of April in the village of Luh in Rakhiv district, on the central road "Mukachevo – Lviv – Rohatyn." As a result of the accident, a 38-year-old local woman was injured.
- The vehicle involved in the traffic accident that occurred on April 28, around 23.00, on Sanatorna street in the village of Chinadiyevo in Mukachevo district. There, on the roadway, an unconscious 40-year-old local resident was found and taken to hospital with injuries.
