Attempted murder of two teenagers: Transcarpathian prosecutor’s office approved the indictment against the attacker

With the approval of the prosecutor of the Mizhhirya department of the Khust local prosecutor’s office, police investigators indicted a 33-year-old resident of Mizhhirya district of attempted murder of two minors (Part 2 of Article 15 – Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). 
As it was found out, the suspect being in the state of alcohol intoxication inflicted knife wounds to a 17- and a 15-year-old boys who were visiting him. 
The motive for the crime was an altercation between the man and his guests. The boys stood up for the man’s daughter. Grabbing a knife, the latter struck the older boy in the chest and thigh, and wounded the younger boy in the thigh and arm. The 17-year-old boy is now under the care of doctors at the district hospital, and the younger one was discharged after treatment. 
The attacker was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility. The choice of pre-trial restraint is currently being decided. 
Further investigation is being carried out by the Mizhhirya Police Department. Procedural control over the pre-trial investigation is provided by prosecutors of the Mizhhirya Department of the Khust Local Prosecutor’s Office.
