At this session, the deputies once again failed to privatize communal property of Uzhgorod

At this meeting, members of the City Council once again tried to consider the draft decision on the privatization of communal property.

However, lawyers and activists again took the floor. They complain: many objects from the list should not be privatized, so that the community keep some property. This includes the privatization of public spaces, such as basements, because, they say, it’s against the law. 

After a long and rather heated discussion, the Mayor Andriyiv decided to withdraw the draft decision from the agenda and invited representatives of the public together with deputies to inspect all items from the list and give their suggestions.
