At the ‘Tysa’ border crossing point, two Ukrainian citizens were deprived of a minivan and a car due to hidden cigarettes

Border guards of the Chop unit together with the customs officers of the ‘Tysa’ border crossing point discovered hidden tobacco products.

The ‘Renault’ minivan with Polish license plates was driven to Hungary by a Ukrainian citizen. The workers of the border crossing point discovered almost 600 hidden packs of cigarettes during the border and customs inspection of the transport. The products were hidden inside the spare wheel cavity and the music speakers.  These were cigarettes of the ‘Winston’ ‘SuperSlimsBlue’ brand produced in Ukraine. The cost of the tobacco products is over 10 thousand UAH.

The tobacco products and the car (the value of which is around 120 thousand UAH) were removed and transferred to the police officers.

Moreover, last week, a Ukrainian citizen was deprived of his car (a 1997 ‘Chrysler’) because of 120 packs of cigarettes at the same border crossing point. The amount confiscated was more than 36.5 thousand UAH.
