Yesterday, October 4, 2016, Transcarpathian customs officers seized from a citizen of Ukraine a car "Mercedes-Benz ML 270 CDI". The Ukrainian was traveling from the Czech Republic and crossed the state border at the checkpoint "Luzhanka."
He provided the customs officer the letter of authorization for the use of the car, the registration certificate of the vehicle and passport of a citizen of Ukraine for traveling abroad.
When checking the documents, customs officers had doubts about the validity of the authorization for the use of the car. To confirm or refute their doubts, they sent a letter of request to the notary specified in the documents submitted for customs clearance. As a result, the notary replied that he had not certified the document.
The actions of the citizen of Ukraine have signs of violation of customs regulations specified in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the car was seized for safekeeping until the final judgment.
