For the second time over the current week in the international checkpoint "Uzhgorod" on the Ukrainian-Slovak border, border guards and customes officers prevented transportation of excisable goods across the border.
This time, an enterprising citizen of Ukraine, heading to Slovakia by a minibus "Mercedes", decided to take a "few packs of cigarettes." However, upon the arrival at the border and customs control point, our compatriot could not escape in-depth inspection of the vehicle, which was carried out by a group of inspectors of border guard and customs services.
As a result of the meticulous inspection of the "Mercedes", the border guards and costoms officers found tobacco products that were hidden under the decorative paneling of the cabin and luggage compartment. In total, inspectors counted 710 packs of cigarettes PRYLUKY, WINSTON, L & M and MARLBORO made in Ukraine.
The cigarettes were seized according to the established procedure and estimated at 6,800 UAH. The assessment value of the minivan, which also was seized, is being established.
