Officers of the Chop Detachment, at the checkpoint "Tisa" on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border,
prevented the illegal import of six vehicles into Ukraine. In all cases, border guards had the
information about the possible illegality of the transactions.
In the first case, our countryman, who was returning home, presented the officers the certificate of
registration for a van "Peugeot" (2004) which had signs of forgery. As a result of the examination, the
forgery was confirmed.
A citizen of the Czech Republic tried to illegally import into Ukraine another vehicle, this time the
passenger car "Mercedes" (1987). However, when checking the ID numbers of the car, border guards
found out that the number of the body was affixed by a non-factory method. This fact was also
confirmed by the result of the expert study.
In the third case, officers prevented the illegal import of four motorcycles "Honda" into Ukraine,
which were transported by our fellow "in the bowels" of a minibus "Mercedes". As a result of
verification measures, it was found that the motorcycles were listed as stolen in the General
Secretariat of Interpol.
These vehicles were confiscated according to the law. The "Peugeot" was evaluated at 200, 000 UAH,
the "Mercedes" – at 84,000 UAH. The value of motorcycles totaled 250,000 UAH.
