At night, contraband cigarettes were found at the checkpoint “Tisa”

Last night, Chop border guards prevented an attempt of illegal transportation of tobacco products across the border.
During the inspection of a minibus "Mercedes" with Ukrainian registration, which arrived at the checkpoint "Tisa" to leave Ukraine, border guards suspected that there might be hidden items in it. So, they decided to inspect the car in depth. Thus, border guards and customs officers found contraband cigarettes in the left side wall of the vehicle. In the double wall, our compatriot arranged a special space, where he put 410 packs of domestically made tobacco products.  Access to the cache became possible after removing the decorative paneling of the minibus wall.
The found tobacco products and the vehicle made in 2003 were seized in accordance with the procedure established by law. The total value of the confiscated items is over a quarter of a million hryvnias.
