To counteract illegal migration, the State Border Guard Service continues to take measures to prevent the illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine. Thus, last night, in the area of the border guard service department "Velyka Palad" of the Mukachevo detachment, the border guards detained foreigners who intended to illegally get to Hungary.
During the patroling, the border guards noticed two unknown persons who, having climbed over the barrier fence, were quickly moving towards the border. In order to detain the offenders, the border guards made warning shots in the air. The detainees did not have any documents, but they said that they were citizens of Afghanistan.
During the interview, the foreigners confessed that they had intended to cross the Ukrainian-Hungarian border illegally to improve their living conditions in one of the EU countries. In order to find out all the circumstances of the offense and draft reports of administrative offences, the offenders were brought to the "Velyka Palad" border guard service department.
The further fate of the detainees and the punishment will be determined by the court.
