At night, border guards found packages with more than 5 thousand contraband cigarettes

Today, about 3 o’clock in the morning, near the village of Dilove in Rakhiv district, Transcarpathian region, border guards of the Mukachevo Detachment prevented another attempt of cigarette smuggling across the state border.

While patrolling, border guards of the department "Dilove" noticed a group of unidentified people with packages moving toward the border. In order to prevent illegal transportation of contraband goods across the border, border guards immediately went to apprehend the offenders. Seeing the border guards, the offenders left the packages and ran away.

At a distance of 40 meters from the border, the smugglers left 11 packages with 5280 packs of cigarettes without excise stamps. The tobacco products were delivered to the Department of the Border Guard Service "Dilove". The measures to identify the persons involved in the illegal activities are being taken.
