The Prosecutor of the region at the meeting with public explained why there are so few criminal cases on Rusyn separatism (only four), and what difficulties investigators encounter when checking the facts.
The fact that the vast majority of Rusyn Internet fighters promptly change their views at meetings with investigators. It turns out that their Internet pages are fake or their accounts have been hacked, and they have never had such views. In particular, Ivan Petrovtsiy always denies his statements made in the Internet.
Mr. Prosecutors says: in the issue of separatism, there is a well-established cooperation with the police and the Security Service of Ukraine, the names of the most active separatists are known, their statements are being scrutinized.
"Sidor, Petrovtsiy, and many others are being carefully investigated. A series of measures are being taken, and the situation is being closely monitored," – he says.
According to Oleg Sydorchuk, there is a considerable range of individuals both in Transcarpathia, and in Russia, and in other countries, who are being checked due to separatist activities. However, it is too early to tell more about the course of the investigation lest not to compromise it.
