The participants of today’s "open" Uzhgorod tour will hear a special story. It will consist of two parts: in the the first one excursionists will walk the historical center and in the second one they will go on a tour of the cathedral.
Assisted by Drugets, back in 1646, the Uzhgorod Union was signed in the Church of St. George (only the ruins of it are left in the Uzhgorod castle). This Union ratified the Greek Catholic faith in modern Transcarpathia.
"This Sunday we will learn about the main events, prominent figures and the history of houses in the old city center, which are related to the Greek Catholic community" – Tourinfocenter Transcarpathia promises.
The meeting is at 14:00, at the Mikolajczyk monument (Fentsyk sq., near the pedestrian bridge).
