Archaeological excavations in the castle

This year’s archaeological research is already at the final stage. 

Works are being carried out in accordance with the planned milestones and terms. Last week, they cleared the crypt No. 3, and outside the crypts they finished clearing the culture layer. Unfortunately, the last crypt had few valuable items (only a few rivets from coffins were found), and the burial places in it are destroyed.    
Currently, there is only one small excavation area left, which requires further clearing, which will be done within the next two days. And then there will be hard work on documenting the objects (crypts, burial places, etc.). After that, the opened area will be filled up, which is necessary to preserve the foundations of the church and the found walls within the central nave. A long and painstaking process of treatment of the found material is ahead. Thank you all for your attention! See you in the next field season! Yours faithfully, the members of the archaeological expedition.
