Apprentice of Y.Bokshay and A.Erdelyi celebrates 80th anniversary (PHOTOS, announcements)

February 7, at 16.00, the exhibition of a member of Transcarpathian organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Yosyp Babynets will open in the "Uzhgorod" gallery.

This year (February 8) he will celebrate his 80th anniversary.

The painter was born in the village of Zarichevo (now Perechyn district). From 1961 to 1967 he studied at the correspondence department of the Faculty of History and Theory of Fine Arts of the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture named after Ilya Repin. After training he was transferred to work as a poster artist of the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic. After that, he worked as a designer artist in various organizations in Uzhgorod, while actively participating in the artistic life of Transcarpathia, and began to exhibit his works at regional and later national exhibitions. His teachers were Transcarpathian artists Y. Bokshay, A. Kotska, A. Erdelyi, F. Manaylo.   

By the way, in 2008, he won the prize of Yosyp Bokshay and Adalbert Erdelyi for his work "Picturesque autumn".

Several dozen of his paintings will be exhibited on February 7.
