Procedural prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region together with officers of the Department for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime of the SBU Office in Transcarpathian Region and the territorial office of the State Bureau Investigations located in the city of Lviv arrested the head of Khust district department of the Center for Probation in Transcarpathian region when he was receiving unlawful benefit.
The official received the bribe from a local resident for avoiding registration with the probation authorities. At present, the first-priority investigative measures for documenting the illegal activity of the official are being taken.
The suspect was arrested in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and taken into custody.
The detainee is suspected of committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – extortion and obtaining an unlawful benefit by an official.
Further pre-trial investigation is underway.
