According to the information resource zakarpatpost.net, a boussole compass, which shows the distance to the poles, has been unveiled in Uzhgorod near the rock garden. The author of the idea is traditionally tourism expert Fedir Shandor.
He noted that the boussole is a practical birthday gift to Uzhgorod from the "Kominvestbank".
The sign shows the cardinal directions, the distances to the poles, the equator, the zero meridian. It is also a geography study area for schoolchildren.
The sign was made of black metal by blacksmiths Stepan Rusnak and Roman Murnyk.
The sign was installed last week, but officially opened yesterday.
