Transcarpathian customs officers found 450 packs of cigarettes under a decorative covering of the roof, the trunk door and in the spare wheel. The customs rules violation was recorded at the customs post "Dyakove."
In order to find the hidden tobacco products, the vehicle was sent to the box for in-depth inspection. Before that a Romanian leaving Ukraine chose the "green corridor" for customs control. According to the customs legislation, the choice of the "green corridor" is deemed a statement of a citizen that the goods being moved by them across the customs border of Ukraine are not subject to a written declaration, tax customs payments, do not fall under statutory prohibitions and / or restrictions on import to or export out of the customs territory of Ukraine and indicates the facts of legal significance.
In his explanation, the foreigner stated that he had hidden the cigarettes together with his friend and tried to move them to Romania in order to sell.
Thus, the citizen committed actions aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from customs control through the use of means impeding the detection of such goods.
These actions have signs of violation of customs regulations referred to in Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, under the report of customs regulations violation, the goods being the direct objects of the customs regulations violation – 450 packs of cigarettes "Rothmans" with filter, made in Ukraine with excise stamps worth more than 5,800 UAH and the vehicle "VOLKSWAGEN GOLF" made in 2001 – were seized.
