Officers of the Economic Crime Department in Transcarpathian region conducted a special operation to detain an official for taking bribes, the local police informed.
Law inforcement officers arrested the chairwoman of the local government committee of one of Uzhgorod microdistricts. The official demanded 50 thousand hryvnias bribe for a plot in the cemetery. In order to avoid any suspicion, the money was to be transferred to the account specified by her.
Today, on March 7, the suspect was detained in the bank premises. Law enforcers seized the documents confirming the transfer of UAH 50,000.
