Another border crossing point with Romania is planned to be opened in Transcarpathia

On October 1, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration, Igor Bondarenko, received the Consul of Romania in Solotvyno Florin Pirva.

During the meeting, the head of the region emphasized that Transcarpathian region is interested in attracting investments in mechanical engineering, food industry, agriculture and tourism, mining and processing of minerals. He also invited the Romanian business community to join the investment forum "Transcarpathia – Business in the Center of Europe", which will take place on October 10 in Uzhgorod in the "Owl’s Nest" complex.

The head of the Regional State Administration asked to support the initiative of the regional state administration to open the checkpoint "Bila Tserkva – Sighetu Marmatiei". The parties agreed that a stakeholder meeting would be held next week to get the project implemented as soon as possible.

“I always say that the issue of opening new checkpoints on the border of Ukraine with the EU within Transcarpathian region is urgent. We need additional crossing points to utilize tourist and transit potential of our region," – Igor Bondarenko said.
