“Anna’s cobweb” on Uzhgorod streets (PHOTOS)

They say, that in old time, on St. Anna Day, people used to make Christmas decorations – straw "spiders" and "hedgehogs".

You will not find straw on Uzhgorod streets, but today, on the eve of St. Anna Day, open-work designs illuminated the street of night Uzhgorod: the company "Zakarpatelektrobud" decorated Druzhby Narodiv Square and part of Sobranetska Street – from the school 4 to Mytna street. On Druzhby Narodiv Square, 5 designs were made last year, now 8 new ones have been added, and on Sobranetska street, they have installed one and a half dozen decorations.

According to the Uzhgorod City Council, the LED lighting fixtures will be there permanently, but they plan to turn them on at night during the major holidays – the New Year’s Eve, Easter, and Day of Uzhgorod.

Tomorrow, they will also put "hats" made of bright fairy-lights on 14 trees in the center of Uzhgorod from the intersection of Korzo and Voloshin streets to the shopping center "Edelweiss".
