Andriy Lyubka presents a “dangerous” collection of stories (Announcement)

The collection of stories by Ukrainian writer and translator Andriy Lyubka "Saudade" was released in mid-May.

The International Literary Corporation MERIDIAN CZERNOWITZ and the author warn that the book can be dangerous, because after reading "you will want to travel the Balkans, drink a glass of red wine and listen to opera arias."

More than sixty short stories – sometimes humorous, sometimes tragic, partly autobiographical, but always sincere – invite readers to experience together with the author the happiest moments of traveling, symphony concerts and not always successful courtships.

"Saudade" is to some extent the sequel to the book "Sleeping with Women," – Andriy Lyubka says – the success of which (three reprints!) was honestly unexpected . For some reason, it is believed that most readers like novels more than short stories, essays and the like. It turned out that the opposite is true: perhaps nowadays people prefer to read two or three pages long story on the way to work or during a coffee break. Anyway, "Saudade" is a collection of 60 short stories, sometimes adventurous, sometimes autobiographical; some of them are set in the Balkans, in Brazil or in a Belarusian prison, others – on an airplane or in a dormitory."

The collection has an unusual title. According to the writer, he chose it because he wants Ukrainians to learn a new word. "It is exotic, mysterious, and sounds so nice." And if you want to know what it means, you’ll find the meaning of it on the pages of "Saudade".

The presentation of the new book by Andriy Lyubka will be held in Uzhgorod on May 25, during the exhibition and fair "Book Fest-2017".
