Transcarpathian Regional Development Agency (RDA) has announced the launch of an international project to restore the tourist appeal of the historic Transcarpathian "Salt Way"
This is stated on the Transcarpathian RDA page on the social network Facebook.
“The project aims to explore and restore the tourist attraction of the historic "Salt Way", an ancient route that ran through the Transcarpathian region and the Szabolcs-Szatmar-Bereg region (Hungary). This route was used to transport salt from Solotvyno to Europe in the Middle Ages,” – the statement reads.
In particular, the project provides for the reconstruction of the pedestrian and parking area on Zamkova street near Khust Castle and clearing the territory and promotion of the Korolevo, Kvasy, Vynogradiv castles.
The partners fo the project are Khust City Council (Ukraine) and the Regional Development Agency of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Berez Region (Hungary).
