An Uzhgorod resident was sentenced to two years imprisonment for an armed attack at the gas station

Prosecutors of Uzhgorod supported the prosecution in court regarding a 20-year-old young man who had committed an armed attack at a gas station on Mynaiska street in Uzhgorod.

   Thus, during the preliminary investigation, it was established that the defendant had come to the gas station and threatened the cashier operator and his assistant with a revolver. Thus, the defendant took the daily revenue of the petrol station, which amounted to almost 30,000 UAH. In addition, the attacker took prepaid cards of mobile operators totaling nearly 1,000 UAH. For those actions, the man was prosecuted for an offense under Part 1 of Art. 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – attack with the goal of taking possession of another person’s property, accompanied with violence dangerous to life or health of the person attacked, that is robbery.

  During the trial, the defendant fully admitted his guilt. Therefore, November 7, 2013, Uzhgorod city and district court sentenced the twenty-year-old attacker to five years imprisonment with a probation period of two years.
