In the sea near the city of Hurghada (Egypt), a white shark attacked a tourist from Austria. She was rescued by another tourist – an entrepreneur from Uzhgorod.
The Russian agency "Interfax" reported about the shark attack.
"In Egypt, the aggressive activity of white sharks is observed near Hurghada, one person has suffered. The last time sharks were noticed there was in 2015," – the report said.
The tourist portal Turprofi reports that the victim was a girl from Austria. A 52-year-old resident of Uzhgorod rescued her from the shark.
"Suddenly, a shark appeared and bit a piece of meat off of the girl’s left abdomen. When the girl started screaming, a Ukrainian swam up to her, the victim grabbed him, and the man had no other choice but swimming to the pontoon. All that time, the shark was circling nearby, but the people got away," – the publication reports.
The injured tourist was hospitalized. It has not been reported how she is now.
