An Uzhgorod resident from Urozhayna street dug out an unexpected discovery

April 9 at 11:30 am, the rescue service was reported that in Uzhgorod on Urozhayna street an explosive-like object had been found.

The dangerous discovery, was found by a local resident in his own yard during excavation works.

Pyrotechnics of the Special Emergency and Rescue Unit of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine in Transcarpathian region identified the object at the scene. It was a 105 mm artillery shell of World War II period.     Fortunately, due to vigilance and proper actions of the man, who immediately stopped working and reported a suspicious object to the rescuers, nothing bad happened.

This shell was removed and later disposed of at a military firing range.
