An Uzhgorod resident built an energy-efficient house

Valeriy Samoylov, a craftsman from Uzhhorod, after taught himself to design 3D-model on the computer using a special software.

 Then he designed an energy-efficient building in the form of a hemisphere. The frame of the dome house consists of wooden parts interconnected with special metal fasteners. For insulation, the builder used Ecowool that holds heat well.

Valeriy worked alone and spent 10 months for the construction of the building. The cost of such building is $ 7 thousand. According to the designer, the hemisphere house can stand at least 50 years.

The cozy dwelling consists of a single room. All the furniture in the house was made by the owner himself using only environmentally friendly materials.

The house is heated with wood – spherical shape allows for fast heating of the room air due to absence of barriers and reduced area of ​​supporting structures. The unusual shape of the building allows to keep temperature at about 26 ° C for a long time. In a cold winter day, it takes only 7 kg of firewood a day.

What is most interesting is that Valeriy has no architectural or engineering education.
