An orphan boy became the owner of his house and land – prosecutors

According to the Prosecutor of Mizhhirya district Serhiy Zovdun, as a result of the conducted investigation to protect the rights of orphans and children deprived of parental care, they have found that a 15-year-old boy, who became an orphan after the death of his parents, is registered at the Juvenile Service of the District Street Administration. The child was taken to the family of his late father’s brother who became his custodian. But, due to the lack of documents of title to the property, owned by the parents of the child, it was impossible to register title to the house, outbuildings, the land in administrative procedure.

Therefore, the District Prosecutor’s Office, together with the Juvenile Service of the Mizhhirya DSA, collected all the necessary documents and filed a lawsuit on the protection of property rights of the orphan. Recently, the court decided to satisfy the claim of the prosecutor, and the 15-year-old orphan boy became the owner of the property that should belong to him by the law.

Currently, 83 orphans and children deprived of parental care are registered with the Juvenile Service of Mizhhirya district state administration. And it is the state, as the main guarantor of rights, that has to take care of such children both in the area of protection of housing rights of this category of persons, and in other areas necessary for their normal life and development – the press service of the Prosecutors of Transcarpathian region reported.
