According to the press service of the Mukachevo border guard detachment, a patrol noticed an unknown person who was just trying to climb over the fence.
The man turned out to be an Iraqi citizen, he had a permit for permanent residence in Ukraine.
The foreigner explained that he worked as a doctor in Vinnytsia and intended to get to Germany allegedly to visit his sick mother. According to the young doctor, he tried several times to cross the border legally, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he was unable to do so, so he decided to go to his mother on foot.
The man has been taken to the Mukachevo Border Guard Detachment. A report on an administrative offense has been drawn up against the detainee, so the further fate of the traveler will be determined by the court.
