An exhibition of documents and photographs of the First World War opened in the Transcarpathian State Archives (PHOTOS)

The organizers of the exhibition are the State Archives of Transcarpathian region and Presov University.

In his speech, the Director of the State Archives M. Misiuk said that despite the significant negative impact of the crisis, the State Archives have been systematically and efficiently developing one of the priorities of its activity – regional international cooperation. He said that the practice of international archival cooperation at the regional level facilitates efficient exchange of experience, particularly on such important issues as the formation of databases, preparation of archival researches and scientific publications, publishing and exhibition activities. Joint projects with foreign counterparts help to identify and replenish the state archive funds and the National Archive Fund Ukraine with foreign documents.

On the occasion of the exhibition, other distinguished guests spoke before the audience. After the official part, there was an interesting and informal discussion of the problems of the research of World War I, and the practical steps taken in this direction by Transcarpathian and Slovak scholars. During the conversation, they mentioned successful projects and outlined ideas and for further effective cooperation.
