Today officers of the Security Service of Ukraine detained an officer of Vynogradiv Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency on charges of receiving illegal benefits.
The detention took place on April 1, at about 10:30, in the building of Vynogradiv Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.
According to a source of the Holos Karpat, a 50-year-old officer of the Agency came out of his office to the corridor, where he received 4,000 UAH (according to official figures – 5,000 UAH). He then returned to the office, followed by a dozen police officers. Having read his charges, they handcuffed the detainee and took him for questioning first in Vynogradiv, and then – in Uzhgorod.
The detainee, who worked in the public institution under a contract of employment, is charged with receiving illegal remuneration for assistance in issuance of a driver’s license. The information about the special operation was distributed by press services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Office and the Prosecutor’s Office in Transcarpathian region. The Security Service of Ukraine Office in Transcarpathian region is also expected to provide official information.
