Recently, Transcarpathian customs officers seized undeclared motorcycles and an ATV, who our compatriot tried to bring to Ukraine without paying customs duties.
Our compatriot, returning from Italy by a truck "RENAULT" through the customs post "Tisa" on Ukrainian-Hungarian border, assured Transcarpathian customs officers in writing and orally that he was not moving any goods, other than the declared ones.
However, Transcarpathian customs officers, during the preliminary monitoring of reports of intention to import goods, taking into account the presence of signs of risk, decided to perform in-depth inspection of this vehicle and the cargo.
Thus, upon the arrival of the vehicle and the cargo to the customs post "Tisa", customs officers, with the assistance of an expert, performed its complete customs inspection.
During the examination, in the semi-trailer, among boxes and pallets, in which the declared goods were moved, they found goods, that were not declared in the shipping documents and were hidden from customs control, namely: an ATV "Polaris", 2 motorcycles "Yamaha" and a motorcycle "Suzuki". All the vehicles were second hand and transported in a disassembled state in a niche specially made with boxes of the declared goods.
The Ukrainian’s actions contain signs of violation of customs regulations stipulated by Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. Based on Article 511 of the CC, the goods worth 361,354 UAH were seized.
