Investigators of the Perechyn police department are establishing the details of the road accident that happened yesterday in the city. The investigation over the accident has been initiated
An accident occurred in the city of Perechyn. As a result of the accident, a 70-year-old local resident was injured.
The investigative-operational group, that was called by the driver of the car, that had hit the pensioner, established the preliminary circumstances of the incident.
The investigators have found out that a 27-year-old resident of Rakovo village, driving his car Volkswagen car towards Uzhgorod, on Uzhgorodska Street hit a cyclist who was moving in the same direction, and had turned to the right in the middle of the street, in front of the car.
As a result of the unsuccessful maneuver, the pensioner ended up under the wheels of the car. The victim suffered bodily injuries of varying degrees. In the hospital, he was diagnosed with internal craniocerebral injury, medium brain contusion, fracture of the base of the skull, fracture of the temporal bone and intracerebral hematoma. Unconscious, he was taken to the Regional Clinical Hospital.
The car of the culprit of the accident and the victim’s bicycle were taken to the impound lot of the Perechyn police station.
The police initiated criminal proceeding over this incident under Art.286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of traffic rules resulting in injuries). The investigation continues.
