During the next week, from 17 to 21 of September, an international medical mission will be working in the region: American and Transcarpathian doctors will be conducting a comprehensive examination of the residents of villages and cities in the region. The purpose of the campaign is to diagnose and detect tuberculosis, hepatitis, HIV and other diseases, as well as to encourage citizens to timely undergo medical examination, which will allow to diagnose the diseases in the early stages and effectively treat them.
The medical examination will be conducted by a team consisting of: a family doctor, a pediatrician, a dermatologist, an infectiologist, a phthisiatologist, an assistant doctor for screening survey for symptoms of tuberculosis. Everyone will be able to undergo rapid tests for HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections. Also, the doctors will be collecting sputum for tuberculosis test.
Medical examinations and consultations will be conducted on the initiative and with participation of the team of American physicians and volunteers BMMI (Baptist Medical Missions International), the Charity Organization "Transcarpathian Charitable Society of the PLWH Network", Transcarpathian Regional Center for AIDS Prevention and Control and the Transcarpathian Regional Clinical Medical Association "Phthisiatrics".
