Ambassador of Ukraine: “Think who benefits from such actions…”

The first comments on the disgraceful provocation in Uzhgorod, which we reported about, have appeared in social networks.

"Last night, in Uzhgorod, there was another explosion and fire in the premises of the Society of Hungarian Culture of Transcarpathia.

 Representatives of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies immediately arrived at the scene.   

 Strong condemnation of such shameful provocations and effective measures to find and punish the perpetrators – this is the position of the Ukrainian side.

We will counter any attempts to disrupt peace both in the region and in Ukraine as a whole. 

The recent arson of the SHCT was a targeted action, carried out by two citizens of Poland, followers of the right-wing radical organization "Phalanga", whose members took part in hostilities in the Donbass on the side of the Russian aggressor.

The Ukrainian competent authorities are working to find and punish the perpetrators. 

 But I urge now to think who benefits from such actions in view of the current worsening of the Ukrainian-Hungarian relations and to jointly counteract all attempts to put a wedge between Ukraine and Hungary, including such dirty methods", – the Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary, Liubov Nepop said.
