Almost half a thousand poppy stalks were seized from the garden of a Transcarpathian

Officers of the Perechyn Police Department have launched an investigation under Article 310 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Sowing or growing sleeping poppy or hemp) over illegal cultivation of drug-containing plants. The plants were sent for examination, the Suspilne reported.

Recall that illegal sowing and growing of 100 or more sleeping poppy bushes is punishable by a fine of 8,500 hryvnias or arrest for up to six months or restriction of liberty for up to three years.
