Almost 1000: clearance of cars with foreign registration at the Transcarpathian customs continues

Citizens continue to have their vehicles with foreign registration cleared at the Transcarpathian Customs. As of the morning of December 20, 2018, the number of cars registered by the customs authorities was 969. As a result of the customs clearance of these cars, more than UAH 61.5 million has been paid to the budget.

Under the declarations of citizens who had been using vehicles with foreign registration in Ukraine, Transcarpathian Customs cleared 154 cars for free circulation. Owners of these cars paid to the state budget more than UAH 9.8 million in customs payments and UAH 1.3 million of voluntary fines.

Recall that the Law of Ukraine of November 8, 2018, No. 2612-VIIІ "On Amendments to the Customs Code of Ukraine and some other legislative acts of Ukraine regarding the importation of vehicles into the customs territory of Ukraine" introduced new provisions for the import of vehicles.

It provides for a transitional period of 180 days for those citizens, who imported a vehicle from January 1, 2015 until the entry into force of this law. During this time, citizens have the opportunity to clear their vehicles, that were imported into the territory of Ukraine during the specified period and are in temporary import or transit state.
