All bears in the National Park “Synevyr” have awakened from hibernation (PHOTOS)

Recently, all the bears in the Rehabilitation center for brown bears of the National Park "Synevyr" have woken up from the winter sleep

It has been almost three months since the five residents of the center – Rosa, Potap, Bubochka, Ira and Winnie – fell asleep. With the arrival of spring and the onset of warm days, the bears began to wake up from a long sleep.

"The bears now feel well, active and have a good appetite, – the head of the Rehabilitation center for brown bears Yaroslav Bundzyak says. – As their bodies are exhausted after the winter, they now receive a high-calorie diet. Yesterday, the rehabilitation center employees examined a large aviary, where they found four dens dug by the bears. This indicates that their natural instincts are restoring and it is a good indicator of their successful rehabilitation."

According to Yaroslav Bundzyak, the bears that fell asleep during the winter are more independent and more fit to return to the wild. They are no longer staying near the fence, waiting for people’s attention and food. Their behavior and habits have become more natural, which is also a result of the successful rehabilitation of mental and physical condition of the animals.
