Alexandr Slyvka elected as a new rector by Uzhgorod National University staff

As it is well known the contract of Uzhgorod National University rector Mukola Vehesh expired on April 8, then he was dismissed from his post. Legally nobody has been carrying out his duties since then. For this reason advance payment to the staff before the holidays came under the threat.
This is for the first time in the history of the higher education in Ukraine when the higher educational establishment remained without the leader, – noted Alexandr Slyvka. As a result, in the educational institution many outstanding issues which required the Rector’s signature accumulated during these few days.

The regional authorities understood the problem of the university staff. The Head of Transcarpathian Regional Council Ivan Baloga and the Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration Volodymyr Prykhodko recommended to the teachers and students to support the solution which would help to avoid the delay in the whole working process at the university, especially during the holidays.
Therefore today, on April 12, it was decided to make corresponding changes to the educational establishment charter and provide Mr. Slyvka with the right to perform the duties of the rector during the UzhNU staff members conference.
