Against coronavirus: Slovakia will conduct training at Transcarpathian border

To date, no new type of coronavirus has been confirmed in Slovakia. However, for safety reasons, a number of measures are planned to be taken, including training at the border crossing points Čierna nad Tisou – Chop and Vysne Nemecke – Uzhgorod.

It is also reported that 4 suspected diseases caused by the new coronavirus have so far been reported in Slovakia. In one case, the result was negative, while others are still being investigated.

According to the Slovak police, in the coming days, training activities to combat the spread of the disease will take place at the Stefanik Airport in Bratislava and at the border crossing points Čierna nad Tisou and Vysne Nemecké.

Eight regional hospitals will also conduct training involving rescue units focusing on special isolation and hospitalization of the patient.

"We assure the public that we are closely monitoring the epidemiological situation and reporting the current situation not only to the relevant ministries, regional health authorities, but also the public," – the head of the health service of the Slovak Republic, Jan Mikas, assured.
