A strong storm swept over Transcarpathian region. As a result of the disaster, dozens of trees were toppled, power lines were broken, roofs were torn down.
The Transcarpathian Regional State Administration reported about the aftermath of the bad weather.
The storm caused the most damage in Irshava district.
Thus, the wind blew off 200 square meters of the roof over the maternity ward of Irshava district hospital, 100 square meters over the intensive care unit. Local truck drivers helped – they removed tarpaulin from their vehicles to cover the holes in roofs and protect the hospital from rain.
Another 120 square meters of the roof was blown off the archives department of the Irshava District State Administration. Roofs over the schools in the villages of Siltse, Horbok, Volovytsia, Dubrivka were also damaged.
In total, power outages occurred in 11 settlements in Khust, Beregovo, Vynogradiv and Velyky Berezny districts. As of 7 pm on April 25, power supply has been restored in 10 settlements. 8 trees fell on the roads in Beregovo, Svalyava, Irshava districts and the city of Mukachevo.
Emergency crews of the power companies are working on the ground. Rescuers from local units are removing the fallen trees.
There have been no reports of casualties as a result of the bad weather.
