After the reform, a sixth district may appear in Transcarpathia

It will be a separate district – Rakhiv. 
According to Vitaliy Bezgin, the Chairman of the Subcommittee on Administrative and Territorial Organization of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning, the relevant issue of forming Rakhiv district is already being considered. 
"Probably, we need to show consistency and also have districts with centers in Rakhiv and Vyzhnytsia (despite the small population in the region). We don’t want a situation where in case of an emergency representatives of the government will have to drive 2 hours to the scene on mountain roads. The committee, the ministry and the regional state administration will further study these issues," – the statement reads.
