The blooming of the Uzhgorod sakuras is reaching its peak, in all corners of the city, locals and numerous visitors are taking photos and selfies.
At the same time, the issue of preservation of the trees is very topical, because there are a lot of people, who want to break off an inflorescence or even a branch, or climb on a tree to have their picture taken among the flowers. Therefore, along with numerous "Sakura Fest" events, there will be the distribution of stickers – "Save Sakuras!".
The stickers will be distributed by volunteers, and the Uzhgorod City Council calls on everyone, who receives a pink "warning sign", to wear it, and hopes that this year the magnificent Japanese cherry trees will not suffer from people’s carelessness – the information department of Uzhgorod City Council reports.
Recall, last year, the public initiative "Save Sakuras!" was launched by concerned Uzhgorod citizens – volunteers of the Movement to support Transcarpathian soldiers, who developed and distributed leaflets about Uzhgorod sakuras, in particular, debunking the myths about them and explaining the "rules of handling sakuras", and launched the campaign #save_sakuras in social networks.
