Activists in Rakhiv distrit again blocked the road to Uzhgorod

Today after 10:00, activists of Rakhiv "Maidan" blocked the road Mukachevo – Ivano-Frankivsk near ​​the stadium in Rakhiv. 

According to them, they will stand, until the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Valeriy Lunchenko hears their demand and changes his decision on the appointment of the head of the local administration. The Mayor of Rakhiv Yaroslav Dumyn came to the protesters with the settlement proposal and invited the parties to the negotiating table, since the opposition has been going on for weeks.

Yeasterday, activists also blocked the road. This time, about 50 people blocked the traffic in the village of Kvasy, near a local resort and were continuously crossing the road on a regulated pedestrian crossing. The campaign lasted for nearly two hours.

Also yesterday, in Rakhiv, there was the assembly, where the activists again demanded to appoint Victor Turok, who now heads the Department of Economy at the local administration, as the head of the district. On the same day at the press conference in Uzhgorod, the head of the RSA announced about the appointment of Ivan Surmachevsky as the head of Rakhiv district state administration and Victor Turok – as his first deputy.
