A terrible accident involving a minibus with Transcarpathians happened near the border in Slovakia
The road accident occurred yesterday, May 31, in Slovakia. The driver of a minibus carrying 10 passengers ran into a truck. The accident happened in the Branisko tunnel, 20 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
Milan Borychko from Mukachevo told about the accident.
– We left the Czech Republic in the evening, – tells Milan, – there were 10 passengers in the bus. We all were going back to Transcarpathia from work. The driver was tired, he had taken a little rest before driving us.
Milan said that he was sitting next to the driver and tried to keep a conversation with him to keep him from falling asleep while driving.
I was talking with the driver until around 3 o’clock in the morning. And then we all fell asleep, because we were tired. We were woken up by a hard impact and realized that there had been an accident. It was around 4 o’clock in the morning. The driver had driven onto the oncoming lane and collided with a truck. The impact was hard, the glass on the windows was broken.
According to the witness, the accident occurred in the Branisko tunnel. They immediately called the police, ambulance, because a passenger of the bus was injured by glass shards.
In this case, fortunately, nobody was seriously injured. The victim was provided with medical care, his life is not in danger. The Transcarpathians took another bus, they are already at home.
