About 3500 packs of cigarettes were found at the checkpoint “Maly Berezny”

Two attempts of illegal transportation of cigarettes across the border were recently prevented by border guards of the Chop detachment together with representatives of the Fiscal Service.

While checking at the checkpoint "Maly Berezny" a car "Peugeot", which was leaving Ukraine, the inspection group found in the bottom of the car a specially made cache with more than a thousand packs of cgaretts "L&M". The owner of the contraband was a citizen of Ukraine. The car and the cargo worth more than 200,000 UAH was handed over to officers of the Fiscal Service.

 Later, at the same checkpoint, border guards and officers of the Fiscal Service stopped another car "Mercedes" driven by a citizen of Lithuania. During the inspection the dog trained to search for tobacco products gave a signal. During the in-depth inspection, seven caches were found in structural features of the car. There were almost 2.5 thousand packs of cigarettes "L&M" inside.

The tobacco products and the car worth more than 260,000 UAH were seized according to the law.
