About 200 employees of UzhNU will be fired

On Monday, September 26, acting rector of UzhNU Fedir Vashchuk said this news at the meeting with students. He said that the current technical staff (drivers, plumbers, mechanics, etc.) is too large and artificially inflated. "We have 13 drivers. Only two of them actually work. And the publishing center, which employs 17 people, has almost nothing to print" – said Vashchuk. According to him, by dropping unnecessary ballast UzhNU can save about 2.5 million per year.

At the same meeting, the new helmsman again talked about the possibility of dormitories renovation executed by private firms. "Does it matter to you whom to pay?" – Vashchuk asked the present students. – "The price will remain the same, but you will pay construction companies, not the university." In the conversation the students admitted that indeed it does not matter. But they hesitate, expecting some kind of catch. They just do not believe that anything could be so rosy.
