A Ukrainian with a forged passport was detained on the border with Hungary

Yesterday, the border guards of the Chop detachment prevented the attempt of illegal border crossing by our compatriot, who was returning to the territory of Ukraine through the checkpoint "Tisa". During the border control of a minibus Volkswagen, law enforcement officers found out that one of the documents presented did not conform to the requirements. During the in-depth examination, it was found out that the passport of a citizen of Romania did not have appropriate protective elements. These signs indicated that the passport was forged and obtained illegally.

In addition, the document was checked in the Interpol databases. It turned out that the passport is registered as being stolen or lost on the territory of Romania.

So, the bearer of the forged document was detained. The border guards managed to identify the offender as a citizen of Ukraine. During the questioning and drawing up of procedural documents, a travel passport of a citizen of Ukraine was found on him. Law enforcement officers are finding out the reason why the detainee did not use it when crossing the border.

For the committed offense, our compatriot was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses "Illegal crossing or attempt to illegally cross the state border of Ukraine". The report of a criminal offense under Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, their sale, use of forged documents" was sent to the National Police.

After completing the relevant procedural documents, the detainee left the checkpoint escorted by officers of Uzhgorod Police Department in Transcarpathian region to provide explanations.
